My Experiences With Night Terrors, Sleep Paralysis and Astral Projection

I am only 15 and I have been having “sleep paralysis” or at least what I thought was sleep paralysis, I have these terrible night terrors about once a month and I feel like I am going crazy.

In my night terror there is this (thing) shadow person and my shoulders around the back of my neck, this is such a strong horrible feeling, that in my night terrors end up in the fetal position in my bed, usually I wake up, but I can't move, completely frozen, I try to panic or scream out but I can't. Another one, when the shodow person has me and is pulling me backwards. Right now it's actually about 4 in the morning, I had only about 20 minutes ago.

Since the first time I have had night terrors I have been looking up every possible way to stop such things and night terrors or sleep paralysis, and from what I have found asto projection seems to play a massive part in sleep paralysis and night terrors. (asto projection - (for those who don't know) Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of any form of out-of-body experience that assumes the existence of an “astral body” separate from the physical body and capable of travelling outside it. Astral projection or travel denotes the astral body leaving the physical body) so to put it in short terms our spirit leaves our body while we sleep). (sound crazy? Google it!)

See when we are “astro projecting” we are completely frozen unable to move but are completely conscious (hence sleep paralysis) some people can remain conscious in there astro body therefore then do not suffer sleep paralysis) as for the night terror, our subconscious mind creates a night terror to go with these sensations. (i know I sound completely crazy or just stupid)

The moving feeling you have of being flung around the room could be caused by the fact your astral body is out and moving around your physical body, you need to learn to convince your self the shodow person or night terror side is part of imagination and focus on controlling your astro body or the movement.

I know at the time it feels like you can't do anything, that's where the power of the mind comes in! The light in your mind in safe your way out hence why you always go for the light, in your mind its like you turn off switch for this night terror.

I have been trying to focus on controlling my self when I feel like something is dragging backwards and pulling me around, and I have cut down the amount of night terrors I have been having.

Night Terrors / Astro Projection
by: Sophie PG

When I was younger, I used to wake up late at night screaming in absolute hysteria. I didn't know what it was but I just felt this presence of something dark; it's hard to explain but it was just pure fear. I'd get up and walk around and stuff but I still felt like I was in two dimensions at once (as crazy as that sounds), because although I could see and hear my parents trying to calm me down, apparently I would just stare straight through them to this one place in the lounge room. There was something that I was terrified of in that spot, I remember this dark shadow being in the spot, it didn't have a defined figure but it was just, there, if you know what I mean. I felt like I had to get away from it as though it was coming after me. During this trance-like state I was really confused and I couldn't seem to control my body properly. This could have been because at the same time as being in my physical body in reality, I was astral-travelling too; this could explain why I felt like I was in two dimensions.
This one time I woke up in bed and saw my own body lying in the bed, only I felt tiny, and the bed seemed at least 4 times it's real size. Despite the fact that I could move perfectly fine, I felt like I was going really slow.
I'm 15 now and haven't had a night terror since, but certain things sometimes trigger this anxiety within me. Just thinking about it now makes me feel like I'm being watched.

sleep paralysis...
by: overflow

I've been experiencing sleep paralysis ever since I was a little kid. It happens to me at least a few times a week. It used to scare the shit out of me cuz I didn't know what was going on, but over the years I've learned to better control it. If you can get over the fear (I know it can be intense) but if you can get over it and tune into what's going on in your mind and body, it can be a really enjoyable experience. On a few occasions I was able to leave my body. Sometimes I just floated around, other times I flew off into space, and looked down and could actually see the whole earth, it was awesome. I'm trying to learn to have better control over the astral projection.

i am i6 i have ben having these terrors all my life i have learned through my mother own how to instead control but to understand what each means ....my family on my mothers side practice traveling to the spirit word, my mother told me to stay away from things like voodooo and black magic , she also told me about astro body she told me that the reason i was having these terrors was because she too had them ..in my terror there was a old man , a shadow my with yellow eyes and horns , and i boy , the old man and boy were very nice to me ...in fact i would stay with them from time to time ...but the shadow mann was mdiffrent the boy said that he was the (devile or the 666 man)he wanted my physical body ...but to make things short ..in order to stop these terrors you must confunt your monster or shadow ...fight back u are alive they are not you can kill them fight FIGHT FIGHT!!!

This happens to me a fair bit .one time I was going trough this night terror and the old hag was looking over me (I was completely frozen or paralyzed ) and suddenly I got up and ran up my stairs and the old hag dragged me back down and was standing right over me and lights and loud sounds were flashing.and from that night some times things that are loud become very quiet and every word is vived. So I don't know what's going on.

So it's not just me, whew...

I have been having night terrors & leaving my body for years. I've tried to control it, the floating, but haven't had much luck. It all started after some head injuries about 20 years ago. It seems to come in phases and goes away for a while. It scares the shit out of me. I have fallen pretty far, bouncing when I wake, not cool. Changing sheets & pjs sometimes more than once a night. I am comforted a bit to know I'm not the only one. Any pointers on controlling the floating? I am always just so scared & can't, or don't focus on being in control. I don't remember seeing any scary people or shadows, are they always present? Thanks if anyone has anything to help.

Weird experience
by: Anonymous

ok so I just watched the movie (Insidious) and I was intreged by the astro body's. this could explain why I always sleep so bad I feel like I'm flying. it's like I'm there but can't process what's going on. I just know basic motor skills. all I can remember is seeing white clouds, and a huge man. He wasn't scary but I remember feeling cerine with my surroundings. I heard a voice saying it's not your time go back to your home. and the man smiled and said "I Love You My Son" so I'm basically thinking I talked to God. I'm a very religious person. I've always gone to church and read the Bible. I asked him to forgive Me of my past. until I came across a evil Shadow that haunted me...

I have had these for years... I have had my share of visitors which is horrifying... I tend to freak out when I only have one a night but when I have several I become less scared and start to take control... I close my eyes (one of two things that still work) then I imagine myself levitating... This was suggested to me... I felt myself lift off the bed and it felt so relaxing and nice... I floated so high that I could feel the ceiling press against my face... I opened my eyes and was once again terrified... I felt myself fall and hit the bed at which point I woke and actually felt myself bounce of the bed a couple of inches as if I were dropped... I was amazed... From that point I focused on levitating but also controlling how high I went and what directions my body would move... I learned to go through walls and go where I wanted... unfortunately this is short live and I wake again paralyzed and start over... It always got better till I was no longer afraid... Now I long for this... I know leaving my body is a lucid dream, but whats better than a dream you have full control of... The night terrors or visitors... Well... That still scares me tremendously... I have one warning though... Make sure you don't start walking through walls till you learned to walk around the house... You may find yourself falling from 30K feet with no control over it when its time to wake up... That's a scary feeling... Ive woke in puddles of my own sweat after doing that...
