Past Real Life Injury NIght Terror Sufferer

by Rachel
(Columbus, Ohio)

My night terror is always the same. I jump up from sleeping and my right shoulder is dislocated but of course it's really not dislocated. My fear of it happening again (it's happened more times than I can count) has overtaken my unprotected sleep-moded mind. My boyfriend instinctually restrains me (because he is also half asleep still) while I'm in extreme panic causing double terror. I understand what's really happening only after a few minutes but I cannot explain how my body actually felt like my shoulder was dislocated to the point where I'm sore in the morning. What a bummer, I really want this to be over, I fear my night terrors now at bedtime, more fear on top of fear, what a crappy way to live.
